Road Fix—or Bait and Switch? California’s road planners want to double a reviled car tax

When you pay your tax on a gallon of gasoline you think it is going to fix the roads—wrong.  When you voted for the Schwarzenegger $10 billion bond, you thought you were fixing roads—wrong, again.  Yes, some of the money goes to roads—but much more goes to buses, trains, bike and horse trails—the latest fad is to spend $10’s of million on bike lanes in cities—just to make driving less safe.
