Congressman Tom McClintock comments on the Farm Bill

“I voted against the Farm Bill yesterday. We have been told that without the Farm Bill, numerous wasteful programs will continue with no reform. Actually, many of the most wasteful programs would expire, like the $150 million to advertise farmers markets. But the fine point of it is this: now that this bill has been defeated, the House can take up real reform at any time. If it had been passed, we would have kicked that can another FIVE YEARS down the road.”
