USDA designates Kings as 11th disaster county

The United States government, with Sacramento, have decided that salmon, shrimp and smelt are more important that California farmers.  Government has stopped the delivery of 75% of needed water to our farmers.  That means our biggest crop is no longer rice, tree crops or vegetables—it is solar farms.

    Weird spin on an ongoing problem of overpopulation and overuse of water in some areas of California. Syphoning off the Sacramento River (and other Northern California rivers) to meet the demand of overuse in other areas is not sustainable. This is not about one group being “more important” than other groups, but about balance. Rice in relatively arid locales never was a good long-term idea. Nor is filling up the planet with more and more and more people. As you’ve noticed, we are not filling up the planet with more water.
